Strengthening Entrepreneurship Education in Turkey and EU (EE_Tur)

This project is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey

The action “Strengthening Entrepreneurship Education in Turkey and EU” built-up on the successful experience that other European countries are having by offering the Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP) as a qualification for mini-company students.

The implementation of the ESP in Turkey was co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey under the umbrella of the Civil Society Dialogue Programme and undertaken by JA Europe and JA Turkey with the support of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education (Istanbul MEM); İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education (Izmir MEM) and Türkiye Ozel Okullar Dernegi. Among the associated partners there were also EMCC Turkey; GYIAD (Young Businessmen Association) and Istanbul Startup Angels.

The overall objective of the action was to enlarge the number of Turkish students involved in entrepreneurship education and give them the possibility to certify the knowledge, competences and skills they acquire during their 1-year entrepreneurship education experience in school.

The main results of the Action under each of specific objectives are:

1. Increase the number of secondary school students (15-19 years old) involved in entrepreneurship education in Turkey by giving them access to an international qualification.

2. Help teachers to improve their teaching methods and become more entrepreneurial educators.

3. Engage and involve business and industry.

4. Improve the dialogue between EU and Turkish stakeholders in the field of entrepreneurship education and generate strong local stakeholder support.
