ERT Recommendations: ESP as a key initiative to boost enterprising attitude

02 October 2015

On September 28, the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT) published a document about leveraging employability and recommended a range of measures to boost the hard and soft skills needed by European companies.

In this framework, the Entrepreneurial Skills Pass is recognised as one of the key initiatives to provide young people with the right skills and mindset: ‘Students should be encouraged to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. A recognition and certification of entrepreneurial skills is an important first step’.

The publication shows what governments, schools and business can do together to give young people the best opportunities for the transition from school into professional life. A closer link between education and business together with a more dynamic labour market will maximise the pool of skilled specialists available who can exploit the benefits to economic growth, job creation and social welfare in Europe.

‘Job security will increasingly depend on people’s employability: their ability to smoothly adapt and learn in a continuously changing environment’, said Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO of Solvay.
