Laure Van Hauwaert WPP

Laure is Managing Director EU Institutions, in the Government and Public Sector Practice, WPP. She is working with the EU institutions, to drive excellence in research and communications for European Union public sector clients. Her role is to bring WPP's best thinking, talent and experience in government and public sector communications to the EU public sector by building on solid academic and social research to inform the development of effective strategies for citizen engagement, policy communications, behaviour change communications, ...

Prior to this, she was Institutional communications Director at Ogilvy Brussels, where she was in charge of business development & senior client management for institutional clients. Key roles include: identifying business opportunities and developing new business teams and proposals; strategic advice and counsel on integrated communication campaigns, team management, quality control and contract management. In recent years, she has led award winning campaigns for the European Commission and the European Parliament. Work includes the Commission’s flagship campaigns on biodiversity (2010) and resource efficiency (2011-2012) and the European Parliament’s elections campaign in 2013-2014
Areas of expertise: awareness campaigns, integrated communications, social marketing, corporate and consumer communications, media relations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability, stakeholder engagement, internal communications and crisis communications.

Before this, Laure spent 7 years working for Ogilvy PR’s Corporate and Consumer practice, where she provided strategic advice and counsel on communication campaigns, as well as team supervision.
Areas of expertise: corporate and consumer communications, media relations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability, public sector communications, stakeholder engagement, internal communications and crisis communications.
Laure is a graduate in Art History and has a complementary degree in Journalism. She is Belgian, bilingual French/Dutch and fluent in English.
