Matthieu Jehl ArcelorMittal

French-born Matthieu Jehl has been a Chief Executive Officer within the ArcelorMittal Group for the last 5 years. After having obtained master degrees in engineering as well as economics, he started his career as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Shortly thereafter he joined the ArcelorMittal Group. During the fourteen years that followed, he occupied several positions within the Group: having started as a project leader in the Stainless Division, he quickly evolved towards managerial positions eventually taking up the role of CEO at ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt (Germany) in 2011. Three years later, he became CEO of ArcelorMittal Gent; a position which was extended at the beginning of 2016, when Matthieu became head of the so-called “cluster” combining ArcelorMittal Gent and Liège. A role he still fulfills today. During his time at ArcelorMittal, Matthieu obtained his MBA at the London Business school. His diverse career within the Group brought him to several European countries, making him fluent in four languages (French, English, Dutch and German).

ArcelorMittal is the world's leading steel and mining company, with a presence in more than 60 countries and an industrial footprint in 19 countries. The cluster ArcelorMittal Gent–Liège, headed by Matthieu Jehl, employs 6,300 employees.
